Career Highlights

Community Banker, TD  Bank 

For 6 years he worked as  a community development banker championing investment in underserved communities around the state of New York.   He assisted affordable housing developers, small businesses, not-for-profits and social service agencies get the financing they needed to continue their important work; providing counsel, structuring loans, facilitating grants and connecting them with other products and services to help them succeed. Vince works primarily with organizations that build affordable housing or provide social services in low income communities.  During this time Vince directly involved with investments over $25 million in New York state with over $10 million in NY-15 in the form of small business loans, commercial real estate loans, lines of credit and grants to local not-for-profit organizations.

Founder, HarlemNOW.org 

Vince founded this non-partisan organization to bring the diverse residents of Harlem together around common issues and community activism. The organization’s “Neighbors United” theme is a reminder that we are all in this together.  Public safety, education and community involvement are the primary focus of the organization.  Vince has been a strong advocate for child safety issues, education and mentorship and believes that the diverse communities of Upper Manhattan can unify around common goals and become an international model of urban success.

Chairman, 125th Steet Business Improvement District 

Vincent served for 3 years as Chairman of the Board of  this organization dedicated to promoting Harlem’s main commercial corridor. The BID is responsible for safety and sanitation and manages programs that attract visitors and investment on 125th Street.  His leadership help steer the organization through a very turbulent period of time.  He was instrumental refocusing the organization on its core mission.  He helped reorganize the structure, focus and business plan, attracted new members to the board, increased participation, raised financial standards and reporting.  He also elevated the prominence of the organization as to better reflect and represent the over 500 commercial businesses that are located on 125th Street.  In 2010, he led the  efforts to support the Holiday Lighting Campaign “Light It Up” and helped unify the local community boards, businesses and residents to fundraise a promote shopping and tourism.

Director, The Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone 

Morgan served as the Director of Marketing for Upper Manhattan’s premier economic development organization. During his tenure he created the “Swing Uptown” tourism initiative to attract visitors Uptown.  Vince worked closely with all the major cultural institutions and many prominent local businesses Uptown to unify them around a collective push for investment and marketing support.

Special Assistant to the Congressman, 15th Congressional District of NY

Vince spent 3 years working in the same local congressional office that he aspires to lead. He became adept at the hard work required to provide efficient constituent services for the people of Upper Manhattan. He assisted residents with issues that included housing, immigration, healthcare, social security, education and economic development.  He served as the Congressman’s go-to person for small business and education initiatives, He also resurrected and managed the local college internship program, upgraded office facilities and technology to streamline case work and provide a system for monitoring the process.

Member, NY County Democratic Committee 

Served as representative from the 7th Electoral District of the 70th Assembly District in Harlem. Working to ensure our party’s values and issues are implemented to better the lives of all New Yorkers.
